We took a break form packing and headed up to Colorado Springs to visit some friends for the weekend. After driving all night Friday, we were pretty wiped on Saturday. So we decided to take it easy and go to the lake for some sun and relaxation.
Well almost. Before the rodeo they help the rodeo encounter. It was for non rodeo kids to get a taste of what it's like to do rodeo events. This was followed by the pro rodeo. It was kind of weird shooting this, since it felt exactly the same as it did last year. Pretty much everything, including the jokes from the rodeo clown, was the same. I felt like I did a good job of not getting the same photos as I did last year. It was partly because I see differently than I did last year. It's interesting to shoot the same event in back to back years. It kind of makes you reflect on the past year as a photographer.
Last week was rodeo week. It was kicked off by the Little Buckaroo Rodeo. Now the Little Buckaroo Rodeo differs from the Junior Rodeo. The Junior Rodeo is like the real Rodeo just with kids 8-18. They do the same events but use steers and calves instead of bulls and broncs. The Little Buckaroo Rodeo is for kids 4-12. The events are more geared towards little kids and are rodeo inspired.
Here are a couple of features from the past couple weeks. I feel like I'm starting to come out of a creative lull. I'm producing about 1-2 photos I like a week. I consider this to be about average.
The first one is from the carnival that came to town a couple weeks ago. The last one is a biker event last Saturday.
