Easter Fire

Saturday night we had an impromptu easter party. We finally got to light out burn pile which had been building up all winter.  After the fire started going full strength, the flames were easily 20 feet high. It turned out to be a really good night and the rope swing was the highlight.

CRG bout 1

Had the first CRG bout of the season. Light was horrible at the skate ranch, but I did my best. I can't wait until they play at Dorton Area. I'll actually be able to light it. That should make things interesting. I did get a break of nice light between periods 1 and 2.

Soccer Fans

I shot the US/Jamaica national team at SAS last night. Grant and Chris were there also. That freed me up so I didn't need to shoot any action, which I didn't. I just looked for cool features all game.

New Lens

A while back I got a Nikon F3 and put a 50 on it to play. This was a much differenent way of shooting for me and I wanted to carry that over to digital so I sold my problematic 50mm f/1.4 lens. With the money I got, I bought a 35mm f/2.

Driving with Light

I was heading over to Cary Academy to shoot a tempo and the light was kickin'. Several times I was driving looking though the viewfinder.

Faces

These are a couple photos I liked from the two rolls of black and white film I shot. My theme was "faces". I wanted to try to capture an aspect of the person in one tight shot of their face. Shooting with film was a lot of fun and was the catalyst for me to get a 35mm f/2. I want to shoot with this for a while so I'm forced to think diffferently about how I approach situations.
